Massage during COVID-19 Pandemic

Since early March 2020, we have been in a state of change and upheaval due to the novel coronavirus. We already follow a strict protocol of hygiene and sanitation in our usual business operations. However, here are the protocols we have implemented to guard against COVID-19.  Updated May 2023.

 Clients:

In alignment with WA Department of Health regulations and changes, masks are no longer required to be worn by clients during massage. You are more than welcome to continue wearing one.

Symptoms –If you have any symptoms of illness (running nose, congestion, fever, cough, etc.) we ask that you reschedule your appointment to a later date when you are well. Please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy.

Positive Covid Test – If you test positive for Covid, do not come in for your massage.  Though the CDC has shortened the quarantine period, we ask that you do not come in until at least 10 days have passed from your positive test.

Covid Exposure – If you are fully vaccinated and boosted, and have been exposed to someone with Covid, please make sure at least 5 days have passed before coming in for a massage. If you are not fully vaccinated/boosted and have been exposed to someone with Covid, please make sure at least 10 days have passed and you have been tested before coming in for a massage.

 Massage Therapists:

Masks - Our therapists will continue to wear KN95/N95 masks and aprons that are changed after each client

Cleaning - The treatment room will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned after each client

Air - Whenever weather permits, the small window in the treatment room will be open to allow for fresh air circulation.  In addition, a medical grade air purifier with HEPA filter is in room and running during all treatments.

All Horizon Massage Therapy therapists are fully vaccinated and boosted. If we are exposed to Covid or are ill, we will cancel/reschedule your appointment. We trust that you will extend the same consideration towards us.

We will continue to monitor DOH changes/recommendations and adjust our practice accordingly. We thank all of your for your support and patience during this time. If you have any questions about our protocols, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
